The Submission Window for The Manchester Review is now closed. The editors would like to apologise for delay in responding to your submissions. We are working to get to all submissions as soon as possible. We will announce the submission window’s reopening here and on our social media accounts.
The Manchester Review publishes two issues per year in Summer and Winter. During our submission period we welcome unpublished fiction, poetry and essays from both established and new writers. Please make no more than one submission per issue. Simultaneous submissions are permitted. In the subject line of your email, please include your name and the category of your submission (Fiction/Poetry/Non-Fiction). You should include a short bio in your cover email, and please make sure that identifying details are also on your submission. Please note: we only accept Word documents.
Prose
Please send only one piece of fiction or non-fiction. Very rarely do we publish works longer than 6,000 words.
Poetry
Please send no more than 3 poems.
Art
Please email us a link to your online portfolio. Unfortunately we cannot accept visual art submissions by post.
